Is awesome. Eagerly awaiting season three...but that's a ways off.

...this latest episode hopefully blew all of your weak arguments against the show out of the water.

Because really. This episode. THIS EPISODE.

Because I would rather vent my feelings somewhere where my little nitpicks won't flood my profile for pages and pages and pages.

Spoiler alert: I didn't like it. Important note: it's not because of the shipping.

Shipping DOES make me mad for this, but it's not like I'd have liked it much more if shipping had been more "in my favor."

Question time!

2 min read
What's worse than exposition in the middle of a battle that you really want to see?

The answer?

Exposition on stuff that you already know in the middle of a battle that you really want to see.

Bleach stuff ahead.

I understand, Kubo had to do it at some point, the dangers of the Quincy were only stated about four years ago (or...well more than that?), and new readers or those who haven't flipped back constantly could have easily forgotten, but it was still annoying.

As for the battle itself?

It was quite awesome. I was glad to see that Allon actually beat the guy to a pulp (a still-alive pulp), and though he did not take the man's life, he did take quite a bit of that pride and arrogance, and gave us several wonderful panels of Mister Jerkface being bloodied and beaten. I'll take it. And he did intervene at a decisive moment, potentially saving everyone's lives and meaning that Harribel's Fraccion actually did something relevant. It was so relevant, in fact, that Apacci's apparent demise at the end of this chapter actually came with a strange acceptance from me; she's gone down with a few motivational panels, showing confidence and strength and spitting in the face of her killer. People die in wars, people you care about, and if Apacci goes out this way, it at least has a lot more dignity than several chapters ago. Of course, the rez-girl is right next to her, but if this is how the character dies, this is an acceptable--if sad--death.

The arc is still kind of "meh," but this was a chapter that didn't leave me raging or frustrated. Good job, Kubo.

The biggest risk at the moment is that Sung-Sun and Mila Rose will throw themselves into battle and blow up immediately in a useless display of rage. If the two of them escape this thing alive, though, it would be another interesting step for the saga--breaking the established patterns.

Ichigo, anytime you want to cut this guy in two with your bankai, feel free.

That is all for now.
