Description
You're not in the Gaang until the lemur approves.
And when your baby brother gave the lemur one of his most painful days ever, it might be a tense moment....
Mai meeting Momo. A very plain concept for such a drawing, but the best part of Mai being part of the Gaang is that there's room for any number of interactions between them! I have other ideas in mind, but I was driven to do this...I digidrew up a pretty good Mai profile, and so I decided to add Momo in, worked from there, and ta-da! Threw in a few cartoony clouds in the background (which actually works with the concept), shaded, adjusted some proportions, and submitted.
I worked with extending the picture downwards, but I couldn't satisfy myself....I might do a larger version, if I feel the urge. The hand on the right also had to go in, because it felt too off-center without something to counterbalance. And I didn't feel like drawing Mai's ears.
Several questions rose into my head while drawing and conceiving this....one was whether or not to give Mai a lemur allergy. I also wondered if her parents had never allowed pets in the house, and then I had the thought of her being a little small-animal-phobic (she didn't seem to mind Momo on the table, though, and she rides a mongoose dragon pretty well). I even wondered if Mai might somehow speak a fluent lemur. Unlikely, but you never know.
Took a few hours....first pic after vacation. I'd spend longer on the description, but I just found out that I have work in less than seven hours, so I'm going to have to cut this short.
Spread the lemur/lady love, people!
Mai and Momo belong to Mike and Bryan.
Pic is mine.
