It's MEANT to be deja vu. It's meant to be predictable....

If you don't get what's going on, apparently Zuko's changed his mind and doesn't want to go back to the Fire Nation...thus, a comic in the upcoming Avatar magazine will detail Azula's plan to get him home--which involves, among other things, "rekindling an old flame".

Apparently, though, Mai's initially reluctant (pronounced "shy") and trying to do what's best for Zuko (pronounced "pessimistic", also known as "Sokka") and won't do it....until Azula produces another one of those screencaps. Don't ask how she gets them, the Kyoshi Warriors had them....

Yes, this is lame, but it was fun. It was an exercise in drawing Mai and Azula, and I think it went pretty well...Mai-wise, anyway.

No clean-up or anything here, yes, I know...but that's the point. Throw-back to the original! This time, though, it was all done without references.

Oh, I also took Azula's final pose from and her comic: [link] ....which, considering that it took inspiration from mine, is another delightful full-circle thing.
