A Gentle Spirit

I have the unfortunate curse of having my favorite characters be incredibly difficult to draw.

But I drew him! I haven't produced a new picture of Aang in ages--I want to give him so much fanart, but his shiny head makes him hard to put on paper. I think I did all right here, though--I used a lot of reference, but for my second digital drawing in the last twenty-four hours, he looks pretty good!

I think.

I wanted to put him in his new monk's outfit--the garb of Avatar Aang. It makes him look a lot more mature (though I think my Aang-head also might have aged him up here), and more man-than-boy.

I love the pendant, too. It seems to symbolize the weight he carries, while serving as a great form of decoration!

I also think that I might have channeled a little bit of here, in the face; I was reminded rather often of her artwork while drawing him, though it may just be because of her amazingly cute Aang art (mine came out just cute, but it works).

I also like the mountains in the background.

Yeah, not dramatic or anything, but I figured that I'd give this kid some more love.
